Going to have my license to carry at the end of this week. A friend of mine offered to sell me his Glock G26 9mm sub-compact with an extra 10 round mag for $400 (good deal ;) ). Did some research and found that people really like this as a carry piece.
Was wondering if any of you have any experience with this gun that you'd like to share, up/downs, etc.

Glocks are suppose to be pretty reliable. They have a huge fanbase which means tons of aftermarket parts. That's always a good thing.
It's a typical subcompact but I think it's probably better than the other really small Kel-tec's, Para or Kahr's.
With composite guns I do prefer the Springfield XD's or XD-M over the Glocks.
When it comes to concealed carry I'm in the group that feels you should get the closest to full size you can while still being able to conceal it comfortably.
A big portion of that is getting a proper holster. Milt Sparks VM2 is the best holster you can buy if you don't mind waiting 10 months for it lol. Otherwise the MTAC hybrid holsters are really nice.

I've also heard about the reliability of Glocks. Although they got a bad name when some idiots tried over pressure ammo in the larger caliber versions. I'll pick up a Glock 17 some day (only because the 18 is so damn hard to come by) but it isn't high on my list of guns I want to get. I'm not sure if anybody here owns or has fired one but as you can see our view points of gun ownership is quite diverse.
