Before Zombie and Scorp told me about the add-ons you can get for WoW I was lost running around looking for quests.
The only add-on system I use to run my add-ons is from the Curse Client.
http://www.curse.com/client/
From their download site you can use the Curse Client to automatically install any add-ons for you. These are completely legal for the game.
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/default.aspx
Feel free to mention any add-ons you might use or like. There are tons of cool ones out there and if you make a post I'll add them to my list!
I'm glad WoW added vendor sell price onto all loot items.. I hated the auctioneer addon with a passion..
There are many PVP or RAID based addons not listed here since our Guild isn't quite active enough to get into that right now. Though if some of you like to group up with other people online to do those things then ask them about the important addons and let us know any you like.
There are also many addons to make your bars and windows "pretty" lol but I'm not currently using any.
The ones I use are:
Questhelper (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/quest-helper.aspx) It keeps track of your quests for you and shows you where items or people are located on your map. If any this one is a MUST HAVE for playing WoW!:thumbsup2:
Minimap Button Frame (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/minimap-button-frame.aspx) This is nice since it take all of the buttons around your minimap and puts them into a frame you can place anywhere. If you have lots of addons they start overlapping each other so it's better to just take them off the map.
Bartender (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/minimap-button-frame.aspx) This lets you organize all of your action bars how you want to with size and locations. I like having all my attacks right in the bottom middle of my screen without having to scroll like the stock one.
Fish Buddy (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/fishingbuddy.aspx) Helps you keep track of your fish and fishing equipment.
Gatherer (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/gatherer.aspx) Helps you keep track of where you found mining and herbalism items and lists it with the rest of your guild members who also have Gatherer.
I also have a add-on for map and character coordinates which is really handy when talking to other people about points on a map. I just don't remember what it's called lol but there are a bunch of them so any should do.
AllPlayed (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/all-played-laotseu.aspx) Shows all the time you have played on all of your characters, total time played, total gold, XP etc. Really neat add on!
Cartographer This map add on is dead as of 3.3 so you'll need to use Mapster (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/mapster.aspx) It's not as good but at least works...
Recount (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/recount.aspx) A damage meter for you and your group. Good way to keep track of your DPS(damage per second) so you can test out different gear or talents for damage.
RatingBuster (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/rating-buster.aspx) Compare stat changes of armor or weapons compared to ones currently equipped. (WoW no does this in Auction house items but you still need RatingBuster for the field)
Altoholic (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/altoholic.aspx) Ok this one is cool. It allows you to check info on all your other characters(alts) without having to log out of who your playing and log into them. It will show you all your characters: money, xp, talents, glyphs, skills, rep, bag contents, equipment, guild bank, mail!! *Some* of these even work cross realm if you have characters on different realms
GoingPrice Allakhazam (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/goingprice_allakhazam.aspx) I was sooo glad to find this addon. It's a constantly updated database of the auction prices from the Allakhazam.com website. If you have an item that no one is selling on the aution house and you want to know how much it goes for on average you use to have to alt-tab out of wow and go to the Allakhazam site, search for the item(exact spelling was needed..) then look at its auction prices and scroll down to the exact one if there was more than one type. Hated doing that! but this solves that problem, it shows the prices right there next to your items ingame!!
DCOORDS (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/accurate-coordinates-dcoords.aspx) While Cartographer shows your coordinate when you open the map and they make a Cartographer minimap coordinates addon I like this one better. It make a small bar that can show your zone, subzone and coordinates or as I like it just coordinates and you can resize is and put it anywhere on your screen. I like it right under my minimap.
AutoRepair (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/autorepair.aspx) Simple addon, if you hate paying attention to how damaged your items are and if they need repair or not then get this. It will automatically repair all your items when you visit a vendor that offers the repair service.
GearScore (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/nvgearscore.aspx) Look at the combined level score of the gear you or someone else have equipped. This is important because many people in WoW are complete asses and will only want you in their group or pvp if you score high enough..
Other members also use:
LootFilter (http://rom.curse.com/downloads/rom-addons/details/lootfilter.aspx) If you like to auto loot(setting so when you click on a kill all of its items go right into your bag vs clicking each item) then this addon is for you. You train it to blacklist junk(grey) items that you don't need so that it will either delete them right away, left of the body.
X-Perl UnitFrames (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/xperl.aspx) Replacement for Blizzard's default unit frames, including raid frames and raid tools. If you do a lot of group Raids this can help, if not don't bother.
VisualHeal (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/visualheal.aspx) Simple addon for any healer that shows you outgoing and incoming heals to group members.
Misc addons I have yet to try but I'm thinking about:
Bagnon (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/bagnon.aspx) or OneBag3 (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/onebag3.aspx) both are addons to take all of your bag contents and have them open in one popup with multiple features. Sounds interesting.
WIM (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/wim-3.aspx) A Instant Messenger addon for ingame WoW. Looks neat but we tend to use Vent a lot with out groups so..
Overachiever (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/overachiever.aspx) If you're really into gaining achievements this addon improves and adds to the WoW achievements tab features. Buzzard I think this one is for you lol.
