Making a direct desktop shortcut to our CoD4 server.

If you want to bypass opening up Call of Duty 4 to search the server list for our server or skip having to use Xfire to enter your favorites or join game I have a shortcut for you.

For retail buyers:

1) Go to C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare
2) Find a file with the CoD4 logo called "iw3mp"
3) Right click file and select "Create Shortcut"
4) Right click new shortcut file and "rename" to CoD4 ||§§|| Server (you can copy and paste that name from here if it's easier that typing it lol.
5) Right click newly named shortcut and "Send To" Desktop. You can also drag and drop if you prefer.
6) Right click shortcut and select "Properties" then click on the "Shortcut" tab at the top of the window.
7) Into the "Target" box enter this text including quotation marks: "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\iw3mp.exe" +connect "suicidesoldiers.nuclearfallout.net:28930"8) Click "Apply" and "OK" now when you double click that shortcut it will open Call of Duty 4 and bring you directly into our server.


For Steam Buyers:

Everything above is the same except you file is located here C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\call of duty 4 and the text to be entered is: "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\call of duty 4\iw3mp.exe" +connect "suicidesoldiers.nuclearfallout.net:28930"


For ||§§|| CoD4 Slot Subscribers:

Server supporter members have access to our reserved server slots.
To set this up you the text you put into the shortcut needs to contain the user specific password I gave to you.

Here is the text:
"C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\iw3mp.exe" +connect "suicidesoldiers.nuclearfallout.net:28930" +password "enter password here"You must enter your password in between the quotation marks where I wrote "enter password here" remember you have to leave the quotations marks there.
Steam users remember to change link.

This is very helpful, so you dont have to keep joining on others. and can save you the trouble of loggin in if you have a reserved slot.

Lol really? I have the steam version so I just copied the main file location for the retail version off of the internet :p. I capitalized the C and D on the text. Was that it?

Saw the target text while I was on a forum for game server admins getting some cfg info then just adapted it to work for retail and download and made a step by step process that everyone could understand ;).
