Seems my Raptor Drives had a bit of an error. They need a bit of reformatting I lost everything. :( Thought I would be cool and partition the drives to have another XP installed and didint work Like I wanted it to. :( So I need to reformate that drive and start over. Lucky I have 2 other Raided drives and have Vista 64 bit on it so I am not totally down.

Sucks! Did you have backups or did you loose a lot of important info? Makes me want to buy a mini hard drive and do some backups myself..

I have all software on back up but some things got lost no big deal. Photos and stuff are on my 500 External drive so I am safe there. I did have some stuff I needed but can always down load them later.

You can never have to many backups. Redundancy is your friend.

I just replaced a hard drive myself. It didn't die completely but it was SLOW. I was able to copy everything to the new one it just took forever. My new hard drive then gave me some issues but that stopped and I am hoping it doesn't happen again. I do have almost everything on my old computers drive and the important new stuff on DVD. I'm a pack rat so every time a new computer comes along it gets EVERYthing from the old one. I've been lucky enough that whenever a hard drive of mine goes bad it always lets me copy everything off first. The most recent problem that's been keeping me from getting into COD4 is my video cards decided they wanted to start over heating after only 1.5 rounds. I would play fine for one round but never make it through the next.

If your video cards are over heating make sure all your fans in your system are in working condition and their flow isn't blocked, if they have filters on them they are clean. Blowing out your whole system with compressed air will always help as dust builds up on heatsinks. Just make sure the pressure isn't to high ;).

I tend to pick and choose the software to transfer to new hard drives myself.

Computer's not that old and air flow is good. Also most of the air that goes into the computer is cooled as well as filtered; that's why its so frustrating to have it over heat. My custom cooling system (http://sarcasmpoisoning.com/darayryo/images/cooling_system.jpg). I think the biggest problem is that my computer has crossfire and the two cards are right next to each other. I separated them last night and was able to play I just don't know why they over heat faster now then since I built the computer. When I get around to it I'm going to pick up some new heat sinks and hopefully get the machine running without the external cooling system.

Your going to want to be careful about adding moisture to your system using an ac unit like that. It might be fine but watch out for condensation on the metal.

well obviously CoD4 now, but seems like a lot of us are on hiatas, though to get people on, I always seem to be comming on too late or too early because of some family things. I hope the rest of you are getting some play time together. I do miss the big 10 SS ppl on Vent taking on the rest in the server some nights, that is pretty sweet.

L4D when it comes out I believe will be the next big one for the group, but that is only 4 plaer. World at war is the next after that (possibly) but I want to know what people still think of CoD4. Still a keeper, or lost it's charm?

and we can not forget the WoW people, along with groups in RuneScape and Combat Arms.
