Ok we all know the AK-47 is the die hard work in the mud horse of a assault rifle that has been produced more than any other rifle.
While the M-16 needs to be cleaned more but is accurate and versatile.
These two rifles own a very large portion of the world military market.
The AK is stamped, fast and easy to make and due to its loose tolerances you can beat the hell out of it, bend the barrel, toss sand into the chamber and it will still shoot :thumbsup2:.
The M-16 is lightweight and the first composite rifle made. It needs to be cleaned with typical regularity but is accurate enough to snipe with if needed.
There both great built rifles but a big difference that counts for most people is the ammo..
The AK houses the 7.62mm rounds which are very common so easy to find and get on the field of battle, it is also a heavy round that will knock almost anything on their ass! The down side of this round is also the weight. Once it hits its mx range it drops like a brick, giving it very little force at safe distances.
The M-16s 5.56 is smaller, it is also faster and will cover greater distances. The round tends to tumble when it hits flesh causing great damage. The downside it that if there is anything in the way or your dealing with a drugged up crazy chances are you will need more round to put the guy down.
Here is where Barretts new Rec7 comes in.:thumbsup2: If I was to buy a AR style rifle or was going into combate I would want this rifle!!
It carrys the 6.8 SPC rounds. It has %50 more knock down power than the 5.56 with a longer range and less recoil.. it's pretty much a no brainer :p.
Caliber- 6.8 SPC
Weight-7.62 pounds (3.5 kg)
Overall Length-32.4 inch (82.3 cm) stock collapsed
Operation-Semi-automatic, piston operated
Barrel- 16 inch, chrome lined (40.6 cm)
Twist- 1 turn in 10 inches (24.4 cm) http://suicidesoldiersclan.com/picture.php?albumid=11&pictureid=147
I don't know to much about this rifle as of yet but I know I would like to get my hands on one to give it a try :gun (3):
