This is a great site for downloading user made mods for all different types of games. The biggest following is that of the Half Life games. I highly reccomend checking out the site to see what kind of mods they make for the games you have.

Hidden Source - 1 team hunts an invisible enemy that has a predator like cloak

Synergy - one of the most popular multiplayer mods for HL2

Firearms 2 - Not out yet but FA1 rocked

and there are hundreds more multi and single player mods that are like free new games.
