I've been checking out a couple of other CoD forums and I see people talking about how much they love it when they are the host since they are most often faster in a fight then anyone else in the game and their score are always much higher when hosting.
While skill is still most important, I guess a couple ping bars can make a huge difference.
Just curious if any of you have noticed this?

of course I noticed it. I Love being host. Not only do I get to shut the game down at will I usually always get the first shot. I've seen it to where I am fighting host. A host almost always wins a knife fight or shotgun duel. If I am having trouble taking the building on Derailed from one guy it's usually the host. Now yeah skill is still a very important factor. You have to be good to take advantage of being host. I've seen the host do absolutely terrible time and time again.
I know string has had some trouble when he was host but the only thing I have seen is where a player will lagaport "Teleport" around and not take hits. This is however rare. It's more often you notice when both your connections are bad. Just last night I was pissed off two or three times because people would run right through my Scar fire, not take a single hit, and stab me, not even using commando.
To be "fair" and "balanced" like IW wanted they need dedicated servers. They said there was no host advantage but that was another one of many lies.

I've read the only problem with being host is if your computer has issues with the amount of data that needs to be transferred.

I noticed that when I was host I had ZERO problems with when I KNEW I hit that melee button first but die anyways. I got kills when it showed me getting kills and died when i screwed up. MUCH better, but coul have been better if IW gave a shit about PC gamers and just allowed ded servers.

One perk the host gets it the ability to shut down the server, This is the best way to end a hackers reign of terror or just stop a BS game from continuing on. In the past this has been accomplished by either pulling a lan cable (string) or turning of the network functions of ones cable modem (me). Last night I got the idea of looking up an application that would disable my NIC. I bound this command line in a batch file to a hotkey on my keyboard. I could now kill my connection to the internet without having to do anything to my router. This however still had the un-desired side effect of loosing connection to the vent, xfire, and of course steam. Once the steam connection fails completely so does my ability to play the game. Strings new method for killing the server was to ctrl+alt+delete it and kill the task. This is however slow and tedious. So with a little digging I found the command to kill a task.
taskkill /IM iw4mp.exe
D:\Valve\steam.exe -applaunch 10190
These two lines placed in a batch file and hot-linked to a keyboard key will allow me to kill the game and launch it again before anybody even realizes I'm gone.
