So on the MW24/7 forums there was a "If YOU were to design new patch what would YOU INCLUDE?!" thread and I decided I would post my ideas here as well... Suggest your own

I was actually doing a lot of thinking about this this morning (and other times) so now I have a place to put it all...


Balance to Akimbo weapons. Akimbo gives you 2x the firepower and 2x the ammunition but doesn't have any penalty. Restricting ADS is NOT a penalty (a good majority of the people I see playing this game don't do it at all anyway). Accurate Reload times for akimbo. This isn't just 2x longer because reloading two guns is clumsy as you do not have a free hand to do so. You also would not be able to fire one of them while reloading the other. I think they should also have lower accuracy then a single one because controlling two guns at once is once again... clumsy. Also every akimbo weapon will add weight. If you akimbo your SMG and secondary weapon you will move slower because you HAVE FOUR GUNS! Akimbo SMG will move you more like you have a rifle, add akimbo machine pistols on top of that and you will move more like you have an LMG.

Add the ability to have a pistol with your launcher (and ONLY pistol). (Akimbo can give you up to 4 guns so why not get a pistol with your launchers) unlocked via launcher challenges. Generally attachments for launchers would be nice. Speed up the missile, better turning rate, give it a faster lock on, carry a pistol as well.

I can understand the justification behind the death-streaks but they do need some tweaking.
Pain Killer-
Players should be aware of a players painkiller BEFORE firing on them. If I see two guys I always seem to shoot the one of them that has pain killer on. This could be done by showing the pain killer icon when you put your cross-hairs on or really close to them. Somebody else should not be punished for that guy doing badly. Final Stand or last stand NOT both.
Final Stand-
I never had a problem with martyrdom but always hated last stand and now there are two versions of it. The temporary invincibility needs to be removed. I've knifed somebody as they fell into last stand and they survived. The player who originally puts the other player into last stand should get all kill points and not just assists. Players in final stand should be restricted to hip fire and not ADS (unless they are using a one handed weapon). Dropping a sniper and having them pull up their scope and kill you while they are immune to any more damage is just lame.

Using an m203 takes up your equipment slot. You cannot equip both a m203 and Thumper. The 203 also should not be able to be coupled with OMA. OMA being used to refill your primary ammo is just fine because it only gives you 2 magazines every time. Scavenger pro gives you 3 extra right on spawn.

Nerf stun grenades and Flashbangs. The stun and flash effects are 2x what they were in COD4, and everybody gets two and always throw both. You also can get stunned or flashed when you should not have been. Also fix it so stuns and flashes actually effect sentry guns like they are advertised. Claymores also have to be more resilient to concussive blasts. I've had stuns and grenades go off no where near my claymores and have them get disabled.

Add a yellow perk (Electronics Expert) to speed up the reaction time of claymores, and speed up lock time on launchers and scan rate on HB sensors. Lightweight and Scrambler pro let you just run right past claymores and sitrep lets you see them where ever they are so why is there no way to counter this? Claymores would also be resistant to being disabled or immune for the pro version, possibly this could also make you immune to EMP effects.

Tweak Scrambler pro to also mess with HB, delay C4 and launcher locks.

Remove "special grenades" selection and replace it with "equipment 2" This way players who don't use flash or stun grenades can choose to have an extra claymore or grenade, or any combination. Also add extra ammunition to equipment so you can have extra ammo without having to give up bling or slight of hand.

Fix the Stinger + harrier glitch. How many times have you fired a stinger at a harrier and hit nothing? Once I fired 5 missiles at a single jet and hit NOTHING, I actually watched the missile clip through the jet.

Add a check to see if an air strike has been targeted on a location before spawning you there.

Make is so emergency air drop planes can be target and shot down. They will drop flares to protect themselves. You can take down a little bird if you are fast enough. and they will randomly drop the package. The plane would also drop the packages on it's demise.

Make it so launcher locks will show up to your kill streaks. Harriers, Pavelows, and Attack Choppers will attempt to defend themselves even if the user has cold blooded. AC130s and Chopper gunners will also get this indicator.

Fix ammunition pick ups. If the gun you are using has the same ammo type as the gun on the ground you should pick up ammo. (just like COD4 and pretty much EVERY other FPS out there)

Fix Sentry guns and Pavelow kills not counting toward your kill streak.

Spawns, and CP marker glitch, and the Bling 1887s as everybody else has said

Sounds like that would be a perfect upgrade to the game and make it much more fun while also pissing off all the asses who love getting those benefits because they suck.

I agree with everything but nerfing the stun. I do not think it is that bad.

The effects last so freaking long. When you play enough and get flashed when you shouldn't have been and have to sit there waiting for like 30 seconds for your vision to return.

Everyone does seems to flash a lot and it sucks to get hit by it but I'll bet the effects of having one go off in your room would be about the same, it would probably take even longer to get your head strait. I do think that they should not effect anything like sentry guns or claymores unless they hit them directly when they explode. Then again I have no idea how a motion sensitive sentry gun doesn't cause friendly fire all the time??

Sven can you give us an example of you getting stunned when you shouldn't have been?

Just today I was playing on rundown, I had gone up the stairs into the room with the bridge over to the other two adjacent houses. A guy tossed the grenade into the street below, not even within line of sight of me and low and behold I go blind.

I've been flashed or stunned so many times when I am not in direct line of sight or from behind cover or even in adjacent rooms... My claymore at the top of the stairs on estate will get effect by just about ANY stuns or flashes that are tossed in the house.

There's a lot wrong with this game as fun as it is playing it. I doubt a lot of it will be fixed. Let's see if I can add some things you may have missed.

Shotgun Problems: Besides the knifing problems we're aware of, I've noticed the shotgun's effectiveness is quirky when people are lying prone no matter how well you have them targeted. Also when I run into an enemy point blank (literally) and we're pressed against each other my shotgun blast will somehow 'miss' them. I'm guessing this is because my character model's muzzle is somehow passing through them or pointing away.

Knife Lag: Again this isn't something I think will ever get fixed. I'm fine with commando and those supernatural people who can spin the mouse and knife you as you're jumping over them coming down a hill. However, I've noticed people knifing me as I run by and dying after wards. On the kill cam they didn't aim the knife at all and seem to have 'missed' me.

Bullets following you around corners and cover: Probably just a lag thing but annoying as hell especially when I'm host.

Updating weapon menus: If they're going to fix the 1887s and probably other weapons it should be noted in the weapon stats. The M16 is supposed to be one of the strongest rifles in the game but I'm sure the FAMAS does more damage despite having one of the lowest damage stats in the game.

Stuns and flashes are a hard one, there has to be something that combats those corner campers. I think the distance you throw these things and their blast radius should be fixed (it should be more powerful in a closed space). How long they last is probably for the best at the moment. I think the average player has problems rounding the corner quickly enough and spotting where the camper is.

Most of my SERIOUS problems with the game are community/hacker based which would be solved with DEDICATED servers. I'll discuss that in another thread.

*I get the 'cool' factor behind akimbo Glocks, pistols, etc. But SMGs like the P90, UMP45, and SHOTGUNS is just retarded. I know this game isn't supposed to be realistic but it's based around the concept of 'modern warfare' and let's not forget this series roots in COD1 and 2 when there used to be a certain dignity behind IW's work. You look ridiculous running around with them - plain and simple.

If they're going this route let's just also have snow mobiles and ATVs on all the maps (aka the Ghost from Halo).

Good point on the shotguns String. It's been bothering the heck out of me that I can't knife when racking my shotgun or reloading it(Sven says he can but I haven't been able to) I use my shotguns as my backup weapon and that pretty much means if two or more people come to get me I'm dead no matter if I could defend myself or not.

Another thing about the shotguns is this.. IW pick something! Are they using pellet or slugs?? If they are using pellet then yes the range and accuracy is limited but they should hit a much wider area as the shot spreads with distance but they don't seem to spread to me? If they are using slugs then they need to realize that we use threaded barrels with sabot rounds now not to mention smooth bore ammo with rear projectile stabilizers that highly increase the range and accuracy well over what we see in the game..
